"The Big Picture"

I've always been amazed at peple who can put together puzzles that have 500 or 600 pieces to them. Where do you start? For me, it seems like an overwhelming and unending task. Looking for puzzle parts seems like looking for a needle in a hay stack. I'm amazed at amateur astronomers who look into the sky to pinpoint hundreds of stars. They look into the sky and see something very different from what I do. They look at all the little parts to find the big picture.

I seem to observe other people who spend their lives looking at the small pieces of life, but somehow they are never able to look at the "big picture." In our faith, we are always examining the smaller particles of life as we ponder what's coming next. We must be very careful that we don't miss the bigger picture of life and faith. The big picture is one of a God who cares and loves us. The big picture is that the small particles of our lives need to reflect what's really important. We must ask "Why are we here?" and "What it it that God would want us to do next?"

It's questions worth asking as we begin a new year full of hope and big possiblities. Don't miss the big picture!
